Saunas

The fashion for saunas came to us from Scandinavia and is considered one of the habits that support a healthy lifestyle. Saunas in spa complexes and at swimming pools are a popular form of relaxation, but increasingly such rooms also appear in Polish homes. The home sauna is still considered synonymous with luxury, but thanks to its ever-growing popularity, manufacturers are coming out with increasingly favorable offers for individual customers.

Finnish and steam saunas

.

The benefits of a session in the heat vapor cannot be overstated: the sauna cleanses toxins, improves circulation, eliminates the effects of stress and improves immunity. That's why the Finns have been cultivating the sauna tradition for hundreds of years and have become true specialists in this field. The Finnish sauna generates a temperature of 70 to 100⁰C. The air inside is dry, and a small amount of steam comes from water thrown on heated stones. Sessions in a Finnish sauna should not exceed 20 minutes, as the skin heats up very quickly in it.

Steam saunas are rooms in which the temperature does not exceed 60⁰C, but with a humidity of about 50%, the sensation of heat is very intense. Such conditions are achieved thanks to steam generators.

Where can a sauna be installed?

.

If you want to create a sauna in a domestic environment, you can opt for a free-standing building on the property or an extension, but also set aside adequate space inside the building. Even a small area is not an obstacle: the sauna can be created in the basement or be part of a larger bathroom. Selected manufacturers specialize in making suns to size, so it is worth asking them to draw up a design especially for you. A novelty on the market are single-person saunas, adapted to really small apartments. Of course, the room intended for this purpose must be airtight and have good insulation.

Sauna equipment and accessories

.

The walls, floor and ceiling of the sauna are lined with heat-resistant material. The king here is cedar wood, Canadian fir and pine - these are easy to work with, with a pleasant smell and texture. Wooden benches in saunas are installed at different levels. This allows optimal use of the entire temperature range. Undoubtedly, the most important element of a sauna is the heat source. Depending on the type of sauna, this can be a coal-fired or electric stove, while infrared saunas install radiant heaters. Modern sauna models are equipped with a temperature control panel, which can also be used to schedule the length of the session. Additional useful gadgets include a thermometer, a bucket of water, paddles for distributing steam and, of course, absorbent and fluffy towels.
